Freshwater East - Styrstone project of new build holiday home

This project was to demolish an existing building that contained a high volume of asbestos and to dispose of the same .We were then tasked with all aspects of the structure from below ground to roof including raft foundation, retaining walls tanking etc.


Original building ,day one, first job is to strip roof
Day three, roof off, internal partitions removed
Day 7, The excavation for the basement commenced

Day 8, The client inspects the excavation!
Day  9, excavation near completion
Thickenings poured and drainage progresses

The raft is prepared ready to pour despite adverse weather conditions
The pump arrives
Hot air blowers are employed to ensure all snow has dispersed

The trestles are set to the base lines  and at 1 O’Clock the kit arrives
5 O’Clock and the basement is half built!  The basement walls are reinforced using 16mm vertical and 8mm horizontal bars , all set at 250mm centres to conform to the StyroStone module
3 O’Clock the following day and the basement is ready for concrete!

WASTE!  This is all the waste produced from the first section of the build. The advantage of designing the build around the 250mm  StyroStone module

Four after the floor was placed days and the first floor walls are complete to wall plate level and ready for the roof structure
